This project is focused on freedom of expression. The pattern is created with terms surrounding topics of liberty and equality that are coded into a new language. The garment is a statement about the personal beliefs of the wearer, while the minimalist monochromatic design is present to allow the unique colors of the person wearing the outfit to be displayed. The concept represents our need to stand up and act to bring our beliefs to life and empower the movement towards a fairer world.

Concepts to garment
Working on this project was a journey that allowed me to express what I believe in. It was purely a statement of art rather than a strategy-driven piece. The garment production started with the exploration of concepts and the visual universe it will be a part of. I produced a concertina book with my style map and research that was presented together with the garment. The minimalist style of the piece meant that no mistakes could be patched up or otherwise hidden. This was a detailed sewing project since the garment had strict guidelines in every step of the production. Precise measurements and testing were required to achieve a clean look. During this project, I worked with a professional seamstress who provided me with guidance.
